Who We Are
We are a nonprofit organization, managed by volunteers from diversified professional backgrounds who donate their time, talents, and hearts to improving the lives of animals in our community. A key to our success is driven by our extensive volunteer knowledge including Business operations, Networking/collaboration, logistics, marketing and community interactions. We are driven by compassion, collaboration, and community support. Together, we support animal rescue, and speak for those who cannot speak for themselves.

Serving Hernando and surrounding counties, we unite our community to rescue, protect, and care for cats and kittens in need while working together to create a kinder future for animals.

TNR Support Volunteers
Help Reduce Homeless Cat Populations
Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) is one of the most effective and compassionate ways to reduce feral and stray cat populations. TNR support volunteers assist with trapping efforts, transportation, recovery monitoring, colony support, feeding assistance, and community education.
Whether you're experienced with TNR or interested in learning more, volunteers play a vital role in helping improve the lives of community cats while preventing future litters.

Fundraising Volunteers
Help Generate Life Saving Support
As a nonprofit organization, Whiskers Community Rescue depends on community support to continue helping cats and kittens in need. Fundraising volunteers help organize donation drives, fundraising campaigns, special events, sponsorship programs, and other initiatives that generate critical funding.
Every dollar raised helps provide food, veterinary care, spay and neuter services, TNR assistance, foster support, and emergency medical treatment for rescue cats throughout our community.

Event Volunteers
Connect Cats with Their Future Families
Adoption events, fundraisers, community gatherings, and educational outreach programs rely on dedicated volunteers to help everything run smoothly. Event volunteers assist with setup, greeting visitors, answering questions, sharing information about our mission, and helping showcase adoptable cats and kittens.
If you enjoy working with people and supporting community events, this is a great way to make a difference while helping more cats find loving homes.

Community Outreach Volunteers
Be an Advocate for Cats in Our Community
Community outreach volunteers help educate the public about responsible pet ownership, adoption, spay and neuter programs, TNR initiatives, and available rescue resources. They may assist with educational events, community partnerships, awareness campaigns, and outreach efforts throughout Hernando, Pasco, and surrounding counties.
By sharing information and building connections, outreach volunteers help strengthen the support network that makes rescue work possible.

Administrative Volunteers
Behind the Scenes Is Equally Important Work
Not all volunteer opportunities involve direct animal care. Administrative volunteers help with tasks such as data entry, email communication, record keeping, adoption paperwork, donor support, and other organizational needs that keep our rescue operating efficiently.
If you have strong organizational skills and enjoy supporting a mission-driven organization behind the scenes, administrative volunteering can make a significant impact.

Transportation Volunteers
Help Get Our Cats Where They Need to Go
Many rescued cats require transportation to veterinary appointments, foster homes, adoption events, and sometimes emergency medical care. Transportation volunteers play a critical role in ensuring animals receive the care and services they need.
Even volunteering a few hours a month can make a tremendous impact for cats and kittens who depend on timely transportation for their health and well-being.

Foster Volunteers
Open Your Home and Change a Life
Foster volunteers provide temporary homes for cats and kittens while they await adoption. Fostering is one of the most impactful ways to help because it creates space for additional rescues while giving cats a safe, loving environment where they can heal, socialize, and thrive.
Whether you're caring for playful kittens, a recovering medical case, or a cat simply waiting for the right family, fostering helps prepare animals for successful adoption. Whiskers Community Rescue provides guidance and support throughout the fostering journey.

Marketing Volunteers
Help More Cats Be Seen, Supported & Adopted
Every adoption, donation, foster placement, and volunteer sign-up begins with awareness. Marketing volunteers help Whiskers Community Rescue share the stories of rescue cats and kittens, promote events, raise funds, and connect with supporters throughout our community.
Whether you have professional experience or simply enjoy creating content, your skills can help save lives. By increasing visibility for adoptable cats, fundraising campaigns, TNR initiatives, and community programs, marketing volunteers play an important role in helping more animals find the support they need.
